Police Jargon - PJ Language Neutral Workshop REGISTER
Police officers’ testimony is one of the most common materials for interpretation that interpreters encounter in the courts. Those interpreters who deal with this material almost every day would agree that police officers’ particular jargon, speech and writing styles contain specific linguistic structures that are often challenging. This English language workshop seeks to point out the most common vocabulary, language patterns and structures found in police testimony and reports. In preparation for this workshop, send us your most confusing, convoluted, nerve-racking police statement to share in class.
Please follow established procedures with your state's AOC to obtain proper CEU credit.
