This one-day, language-neutral workshop seeks to point out the most common vocabulary, language patterns and structures found in police testimony and reports to ease understanding and sight translation. 6 CEUs. Juvenile and Family Court Procedure and Terminology - FAM
This one-day, language neutral workshop will focus on: 1) the disposition of juvenile criminal cases as it compares to adult criminal procedure, and 2) the civil hearings typical of the courts with jurisdiction in family and juvenile matters. The goal is to provide participants with an opportunity to understand family court procedures, the role of different agencies and actors, and the challenges to the interpreter that these complex hearings present. There will be ample opportunity for discussion of Juvenile/Family law-specific terminology and vocabulary in context. 6 CEUs
