In this Master Class, we will explore the following situations:
1. When in an interpreter-mediated interaction, the speakers are impolite towards the interpreter.
2. When in an interpreter-mediated interaction, the speakers are impolite towards the limited English proficient person or vice versa.
We will apply ethics and standards of practice to navigate these situations without compromising our impartiality or accuracy and completeness. This is a class for court interpreters, medical interpreters, school interpreters and any interpreters working in the public sector.
