Right at First Sight! is a one-day workshop focusing on the general principles of sight translation. The workshop is devoted to general theory of sight translation and linguistic analysis of texts, followed by practice exercises. During this workshop, instructors will introduce the concept of de-verbalization along with critical strategies interpreters may use to render a competent sight translation free of literal translations, mistranslations, and false cognates.
